After the installiation of the raw hardwood flooring, the sand and finishing is the next step to completing your hardwood floor installation.
During this process it will be necessary to have access to a 220v outlet, such as the dryer outlet or the stove outlet to operate the floor sander.
The typical sanding and finishing job usually takes 3-5 days, but the sanding and finishing process can take up to 7 days or more depending on the square footage being sanded and the stain color chosen. Darker can not be coated over the day after the floor is stained due to the amount of pigments in the darker stains. These stains need an extra day to day dry.
After the stain is applied, the floors will then be sealed. The following day the floors with be 2nd coated with urethane and the shoe molding will also be installed. The following day will be the application of the 3rd and final coat. This is where you will have to know if you would like a satin, semi-gloss or high gloss final coat.
